I’m a bitter, middle-aged, curmudgeon who remembers the glory days of the internet when flash animation was cutting edge, you HAD to forward all chain emails or else you would die alone, and we all hid solidly behind the veil of anonymity; seriously who decided putting your real name all over everything you post was a good idea? Most importantly, the advertising industry hadn’t completely ruined every single thing in existence yet. And that’s why we’re here today. I started this venture because I am sick to death of all of the apps on my phone being utterly unusable because of ads. Why the actual fuck does my Alarm Clock app need to have ads? So I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and recreate my favorite apps totally ad free. As I was tirelessly coding away the thought occurred to me that if I’m so sick of ads that I would go this far to be able to play Solitaire ad-free, then perhaps some of you would be willing to pay a dollar or two to also play Solitaire ad-free; homie still wants to get paid but doesn’t wanna fry your eyeballs and drown your sanity in ads. I started my journey in the late-00’s wanting to be a coder, as we all wanted to be the next Zuckerburg at the time. Unfortunately, I met other coders… and that quickly killed any interest I had in being one of those people. Not wanting to change my major, I stuck with a general IT degree and began working Help Desk for a web development company. From there I clawed my way up from resetting passwords to Lead Security Engineer. Disillusioned with the tech industry as a whole, and growing increasingly angry at all of the ads in my life, I decided to spend my free time munching burgers and writing apps that don’t have fucking ads in them.
